Grandparents Gifts Last updated: 15 March 2026
Who We Are
Grandparents Gifts is developed by Tony C Smith, based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
What Data the App Uses
Everything you create in Grandparents Gifts stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We never see, collect, or have access to your content.
The app allows you to create and store:
- Photos and videos you capture or import
- Audio recordings and voice memories
- Text notes, titles, descriptions, and letters
- Names and photos of grandchildren you add
- Your profile name and photo
All of this data is stored locally on your device and synced through your own iCloud account.
What We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ We do not collect personal data
- ❌ We do not use analytics or tracking
- ❌ We do not show advertisements
- ❌ We do not sell or share your data with anyone
- ❌ We have no servers that store your information
iCloud & Data Storage
All your memories are stored locally on your device and synced through Apple’s iCloud service using your own Apple ID. This means:
- Your data is encrypted and managed by Apple
- Only devices signed in with your Apple ID can access your data
- When you share with a co-grandparent or grandchild, Apple’s CloudKit sharing is used securely
- We have no access to your iCloud data at any time
For details on how Apple handles iCloud data, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Device Permissions
The app requests the following permissions, only when needed:
- Camera — To capture photos and videos for your memories
- Microphone — To record audio and video for your memories
- Photo Library — To import photos and save captured media
- Notifications — To let you know when new memories arrive
You can change these permissions at any time in your device Settings.
In-App Purchases
Grandparents Gifts offers an optional premium subscription managed entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple.
Sharing with Family
When you invite a co-grandparent or share memories with a grandchild’s device, the app uses Apple’s built-in CloudKit sharing. This means:
- Shared data travels through Apple’s encrypted iCloud infrastructure
- Only people you explicitly invite can see shared memories
- No data passes through our servers
Children’s Privacy
Grandparents Gifts is designed for grandparents to create memories for their grandchildren. The app does not collect any personal data from children. All content is created and managed by the grandparent, and no data is sent to us or any third party.
Your Rights
Because all your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, you have full control at all times. You can:
- Delete any memory from within the app
- Delete the app entirely to remove all local data
- Manage your iCloud storage through Apple’s Settings
Under UK GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since we do not hold any of your data on our servers, your data is entirely in your hands.
Changes to This Policy
If we make any changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be available within the app and at this URL. We encourage you to review it from time to time.
